talkZone plans
Our talkZone plans recognise the way businesses work in the real world:
- Your Team often call each other - so internal calls are charged at just 15c per minute, or even 0c per minute on talkZoneZero
- You and your Team work together - so you can choose a talkZone plan based on the total number of minutes spent across ALL the mobiles in your business
- You regularly call a core group of suppliers, customers and contacts - so talkZone lets you nominate them as Frequently Called Numbers (FCNs) and talk to them for just 15c per minute
- Business doesn't stop for borders or timezones - so talkZone gives you low international calling rates, with no "on-peak" premium for calling during business hours. In fact, calling overseas on your mobile usually costs less than calling from your desk phone, especially to Australia, the UK, the USA, Canada and Ireland.
- Customers might call one mobile number when someone else is better able to help - so with talkZone you can transfer calls between mobiles, hold conference calls and even use short dials to call each other
- Business doesn't always stop after hours - so all calls are charged at one flat rate, day or night, weekends or weekdays
All the benefits of talkZone apply to talkZoneZero. The difference is that talkZoneZero also gives you free internal calling between all mobiles on the same talkZoneZero plan.
How does talkZone work ?
Both talkZone and talkZoneZero are built around the idea of your business' "Calling Group": the people you call most often. There are two types of people in your Calling Group:
- Your Team - everyone in your business with a Vodafone mobile connected to the same talkZone or talkZoneZero account
- Frequently Called Numbers - external phone numbers you nominate.
Everyone on your talkZone plan can call anyone in your Calling Group for just 15c per minute. With talkZoneZero you can go one step further, with free calling between your Team members. (And in fact, until 30 June 2005 even calls to your Frequently Called Numbers are free.)
Frequently Called Numbers (FCN's) Frequently Called Numbers give you huge opportunities to save costs, because everyone on your talkZone account can call them for just 15c per minute.
Every talkZone and talkZoneZero plan comes with at least one FCN, and you can buy any number of additional numbers for $8.95 per month excluding GST. (As a rule of thumb, any number your business calls for more than 26 minutes per month is worth nominating as an FCN. Remember, that's a total of 26 minutes between all your talkZone mobiles, not 26 minutes each.)
FCNs can be any Vodafone mobile, New Zealand landline or TelstraClear mobile that isn't already on your Vodafone account.
You could nominate:
- Your landline
- Your main suppliers
- Your regular customers or clients
- Your other offices or locations
- Frequently called personal numbers
The person or company you nominate as an FCN incurs no costs, and the discounted calling rates apply on calls from your mobile to their nominated number.
talkZone or talkZone Zero ? If more than one third of your mobile calling is internal - your Team calling each other - you'll be better off with talkZoneZero. Otherwise, the lower per minute costs to external calls of talkZone will be best.
(Remember, if a lot of your Team's mobile calling is to your central landline, you could make it an FCN. Or you could save even more by replacing it with another Vodafone talkZoneZero mobile. Then all calls from or to your mobile team will be free.)
Add up the total minutes of mobile calling your business makes, across all employees. If it's less than 1500, go for standard talkZone or talkZoneZero.

TalkZone Terms & Conditions
- All your mobile connections must be part of the same commercial entity (either employees of a registered company, partnership, trust, incorporated society, government agency or unless otherwise agreed by Vodafone). You will be responsible for all calls and charges generated by your nominated talkZone Calling Group members.
- Your connections will be set up almost immediately. Your Calling Group and Frequently Called Numbers will be set up within 14 working days, and then you're up and running. Standard call rates apply until your Calling Group is set up.
- FCNs may only be national landline numbers, 021 or 029 numbers (025, 026, and 027 numbers may not be an FCN).
- You can change your FCNs once a month, free of charge, simply by free calling 777 from your mobile. Further changes may incur fees.
- Vodafone can suspend your use of FCNs if related usage of FCNs is unusual or excessive.
- Your must have a minimum of two active connections to be eligible for a talkZone or talkZoneZero plan.
- The following call types are not eligible for talkZone pricing discounts, and will incur standard Vodafone charges:
- Roaming (you can still roam; however, talkZone discounts and short dial codes will not operate)
- GPRS data sessions
- Circuit switched data/fax calls
- voiceMail
- 0800 and 0508 freecall numbers
- 0900 and 018
- TXT messages
- callReturn (calls made to members of your Calling Group using callReturn will be charged at the applicable rate for calls made outside your Calling Group).
- Calls to 025, 026, 027 numbers, other national landlines and international numbers will be charged at the applicable rate specified in the talkZone or talkZoneZero pricing plan you have selected.
- You agree to maintain the relevant monthly minutes of use for your applicable talkZone or talkZoneZero plan and acknowledge that if you do not maintain the required minutes over a three month period, Vodafone may change the pricing plan you are on to one which reflects your usage.
- groupCall is auto provisioned for talkZoneZero and is available on request for other talkZone plans.
- When using groupCall you pay the applicable price per minute for each person you call to add to your conference call.
