Vodafone Traveller - Roaming Pricing

Vodafone Traveller is split into four zones. So when you roam and make a call when overseas you will only pay the standard rate you pay when you use your mobile in New Zealand (30c), plus the zone rate per minute i.e. $3 for Japan. The zones and rates per minute are as shown below:

Roaming DestinationCall cost -Zone price including NZ Standard call charge
Australia
$0.30
Europe
$2.30
North America / Asia Pacific

Prices are all exclusive of GST, as GST can not legally be charged for any roaming activity.

With your Amway roaming price plan it doesn't matter which network you're on overseas, you'll always be on these zone rates. This means that you don't need to manually select your network when you arrive which gives you one less thing to worry about.

Roaming tips

1. Set up Vodafone Traveller before you go.
TXT ‘Get Traveller' to 756 or call 777 While roaming overseas you can direct dial Customer Service on 777 from your mobile in over 50 countries around the world.

To view the full list of countries visit vodafone.co.nz/roaming/set-up-services-support.jsp otherwise you can dial +64 9 355 2007 (this incurs the applicable International call charge when roaming).

2. Update your contact list for international dialling
When the numbers in your mobile use the format +64 21 345 678, you can dial them just as easily within New Zealand or from anywhere in the world. Just replace the fi rst zero of a number with +64.

3. Make sure your mobile works at your destination
Your Vodafone New Zealand mobile works on most networks, but not all. Check the listing for the country you're going to at vodafone.co.nz/roaming/countries If their frequency is listed as 900 or 1800, you're defi nitely OK. If it's 1900, your mobile will need to be Tri band. If it's the rare 850, it will need to be Quad band.

Not sure about your mobile? Look it up in our online manuals or give us a call on 777.If your mobile doesn't work at your destination, you might want to rent one that does, or upgrade to a new one.

4. Remember that you pay to receive calls when you're roaming
When you're overseas, the person calling you pays the same as they always do to call your Vodafone New Zealand mobile. You will be charged a flat fee of $1 per minute when receiving calls anywhere in the world. This charge is to cover their call to be forwarded to you overseas, and the charge for the local network to connect you as well.
